Osorno is a city in the Chilean Los Lagos Region, which lies on the Pan-American Highway about 100 km north of Puerto Montt. It is the capital of Osorno Province. It has a population of 146.600.

Osorno was founded in 1558, but laid in ruins between 1603 and 1788 after being destroyed in the conflict with the Mapuche.
